Sold house prices by postcode

Search registered sale prices for one postcode, then inspect dates, property types, tenure and source records before drawing a conclusion.

Price Paid records cover England and Wales. The connected planning screen covers selected English datasets and uses a postcode centroid.
THE DECISION QUESTION

What has actually sold in this postcode?

HM Land Registry Price Paid Data can establish registered completion prices and dates for included residential transactions in England and Wales. A postcode result is a transaction register, not a current valuation: it omits floor area, bedrooms, condition, lease detail and many reasons why prices differ.

What this tool page does

This route is for retrieving and auditing the exact-postcode register. The related guide explains how Price Paid Data is assembled and where its coverage stops.

A reviewable workflow

  1. 01

    Search the exact postcode first

Begin with the smallest unambiguous area. PropertyMetrics preserves exact-postcode results separately even when it assembles a nearby candidate pool.

  2. 02

Inspect the sample before its median

Check the number of records, observed years, property-type mix, tenure mix and newest completion. A median without its composition can be misleading.

  3. 03

    Open the source record

A copied price is weaker than a traceable record. Keep the transaction identifier, completion date, retrieval time and linked-data source attached to the case.

  4. 04

    Return when coverage matters

Registration can lag completion and records can be amended. Save a baseline to the watchlist and refresh it later rather than treating one retrieval as final.

Transaction audit output

  • Exact-postcode records before nearby candidates
  • Sample count, observed years and property mix
  • Transaction identifiers and live source links
  • A dated baseline that can be refreshed later

Fields retained

  • Registered price and completion date
  • Address and postcode as returned
  • Broad property type and tenure indicator
  • New-build and transaction-category fields
  • Source URL, transaction identifier and retrieval time

What this cannot establish

  • No bedrooms or measured floor area
  • No current condition, photographs or survey
  • No lease length, service charge or incentives
  • No statement of present market value
  • Recent completions may not yet be registered
