Privacy policy

A plain-English account of the information handled by the current PropertyMetrics product.

Published by PropertyMetrics Research DeskLast reviewed: 13 August 2026

This policy describes the current PropertyMetrics service. PropertyMetrics is independently operated as a personal research project under the PropertyMetrics Research Desk name.

Information entered into the research tool

A postcode search is sent to the PropertyMetrics server so it can request public records from Postcodes.io, HM Land Registry and the Planning Data platform. Do not enter names, financial account details or sensitive personal information into case names or notes.

Saved cases

Saved cases use browser local storage under the key propertymetrics-cases-v2. They can include the postcode, case name, selected transaction identifiers, adjustment notes, dated case-journal entries and due-diligence statuses. The current service does not send those saved-case contents to a PropertyMetrics account or database.

Saved watchlist areas

Areas saved from the comparison board use browser local storage under the key propertymetrics-watchlist-v1. A record can include the postcode, district, retrieval dates, returned transaction identifiers, summary values, planning-screen count and a note entered by the user. This device-local information is not a background alert subscription.

Server and security logs

The hosting service processes standard request information such as IP address, timestamp, requested path, user agent and error diagnostics for delivery, security and abuse prevention. PropertyMetrics does not combine these operational logs into an individual research profile.

Third-party public-data services

The server sends the searched postcode or resolved coordinates to the public services described on the data-sources page. Their own terms and privacy practices govern their processing.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

The current service sets no analytics or advertising cookies and contains no advertising code. If these technologies are introduced, this policy, the cookie notice and consent controls will be updated before they are enabled.

Your controls

You can remove individual watchlist entries in the product or remove all saved cases and watchlist records by clearing this site's local storage in your browser. Because the current version does not maintain user accounts, there is no server-side saved-case profile to request or delete.

Contact
